Help Protect Our Waterways!

September 17, 2025

Everything that enters a storm drain flows directly into our creeks, ponds, and rivers without treatment. Everyday activities like overusing fertilizer, leaving pet waste on the ground, or dumping chemicals down drains can have serious consequences. Over time, this pollution harms the health of our waterways, wildlife, and even our communities.

Helpful steps residents can take:

  • Pick up and properly dispose of pet waste every time.

  • Use fertilizer and pesticides sparingly and never use them before heavy rain.

  • Drain pool or spa water responsibly, allowing chlorine to dissipate first.

  • Never dump oil, paint, or hazardous materials into drains; use approved disposal sites.

  • Sweep leaves and yard debris away from gutters instead of hosing them into the street.

By taking these steps we can keep our waterways clean and protected.

We appreciate your cooperation!
