Detention Pond Infrastructure Maintenance

Harris County MUD No. 188 "The District" is planning the following projects related to the detention ponds and aging drainage infrastructure. These repairs also include minor design modifications aimed at extending the longevity of the pond system and reducing future maintenance needs.
- Outfall Pipe Replacement – The existing drainage pipe at the east end of the pond needs to be replaced to ensure proper stormwater flow and reduce the risk of erosion or flooding.
- Rock Wall Repair – Sections of the retaining wall are being reconstructed with new, engineered block systems to provide stability and protect against future slope failure.
- Miscellaneous Pond Improvements – After the two items above are completed, additional work will include repairing sidewalks around the pond, grading and reseeding disturbed areas, and restoring irrigation systems as necessary.
These projects represent a significant investment by The District to maintain drainage functionality, improve safety, along with the overall appearance of the pond area. Construction is expected to begin within the next 2-3 weeks, and be completed before the end of
